Tommy's exists to save babies' lives - we do this by funding research into the causes and prevention of miscarriage, premature birth and stillbirth.

We also provide free information via books and leaflets about healthy pregnancy and conditions such as pre-eclampsia and toxoplasmosis, as well as the three key areas we fund research into. As well as this, Tommy's midwives run a pregnancy information line, answering pregnancy related concerns from mums to be, parents and health professionals.

In the UK alone:

• 1 in 4 women experience a miscarriage
• 11 babies are stillborn each day
• 134 babies are born prematurely every day

Every two minutes in the UK, a baby is lost - through miscarriage, stillbirth or because they are born prematurely.

Tommy's strives to lower these numbers. To help do so, the PR team work towards raising awareness of our research, the causes we fund research into and our fundraising campaigns.
